VII. Law of Torts

This chapter provides you with a basic overview of the civil process in the Canadian Courts. For the most part, this chapter addresses "Tort Law" wherein one person wrongs another and the plaintiff is seeking compensation for damages. The chapter reviews what a tort actually is; the types of torts; defenses one can used in fighting a tort litigation; and a review of the types of damages awarded by the courts.
