History of Law takes you through the development of law since the beginning of time. Using primary source documents, this chapter explains why law came about in the period before the first civilizations. Then, the chapter discusses the contributions of each of the world's civilizations to our modern day legal system.
Contributions from the Egyptians, Hebrews, Babylonians & Assyrians, Mohammed and Islam, Greeks, Romans, the early Christian Church, England, France and even the United States are all discussed.
At the end of this chapter, you should have a clear understanding of how the Canadian legal system has evolved and how other civilizations, countries and religions have impacted upon this development.
